Joseph Henry is an American alternative-country/indie-folk singer-songwriter. Throughout the years of singing and playing guitar/keyboard in various pop, punk, and rock bands in and around his hometown, Henry discovered his sound with music from artists such as Bob Dylan, The Band, Ryan Adams, and many more. With focusing his songwriting on personal, yet relatable experiences he believes that he can connect with an audience through song and sound.
Released in September 2015, 'Late Night Song' is the twelve song debut album that was written and produced by Joseph Henry. The album's arrangements, instrumentation, and performances consisted of Henry's long time and newfound friends. The album's overall aesthetic covers an alternative-country and country-western blues sound. Henry's achievement for this album was to portray the heartbreak and recovery process that goes along with human emotion. Henry sings, "This whiskey drinkin' music's gonna make it right," and that is a far too familiar remedy for fellow "Whiskey Drinkin' Music" songwriters and listeners. The entire album was recorded, mixed, and mastered at PonderRosa Studios in Lafayette, New Jersey during the Winter/Spring/Summer months of 2014/2015.
As of June 2016, Joseph Henry was joined along with Adam Pumilia (Bass), Brandon Valdes (Piano/Organ), Caleb Estey (Drums), and James Abbott (Guitar) making up Joseph Henry & The Oaks Band. The group is sure to bring it all home with a familiar, yet new sound to all audiences by showcasing Henry's songwriting along with twangy electric guitar licks, tasteful piano and organ solos, and a powerful rhythm section. A new ten song album by Joseph Henry & The Oaks Band is to be released in 2018.
